Snorkelling & Scuba Diving

Pacific Coast snorkelling and scuba is a little different than that on the Caribbean side of the Country, but it is still resplendent with marine life. There are a number of beaches within 5 minutes to 1.5 hours of Casa Bella Tortuga for snorkelling. And the best local scuba diving (great snorkelling too) is an hour north at Islas Catalinas. The Catalina Islands can be accessed by boats from Tamarindo and Flamingo/Portrero areas.

Surfing

There are a multitude of great surfing beaches in this region of Guanacaste with an easy driving distance from Casa Bella Tortuga. Learn more here.

Hiking

There are a lot of hikes in gorgeous areas of Costa Rica. Some are an easy drive from Casa Bella Tortuga, others are a few hours away. Here are some ideas. Many tour companies can also facilitate a hiking trip that often includes transportation, lunch and a guide.
