SCUBA DIVING

Las Catalinas, the volcanic archepelago of seven rocky off the pacific coast of Guanacaste that draws scuba enthusiasts from around the world, is one of the best diving spots in Costa Rica. The 7 islands of Las Catainas offer 13 dive sites  with an immense array of marine life. The area is particularly famous  for its rays, white tipped sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, whales, eels, sea snakes, harlequin schrimp, octopus and abundant fish.  The diversity is inspiring and can be mind blowing.

\Many local dive shops offer PADI certification courses, PADI fun dives and Discover Scuba dives for inexperienced/non certified divers.

The closest boat launch point to Casa Bella Tortuga for scuba diving is at Playa Tamarindo, a 45-minute drive. Or you can also drive to the the Playa Portrero/Flamingo area about an hour north of Casa Bella Tortuga.
